One thing we're known for, aside from our one of a kind, hand-dyed pieces, is our fabric. We search for the softest, most comfortable textiles you could imagine. Yes, we know anyone can say this, but every time someone experiences touching our fabric for the first time, their face says it all. This season, we're focussing on fleece and modal and we'd love to share a little about them here.

OUR FABRICS:
We use two main kinds of fibres: modal and a bamboo/cotton blend.
Our modal is a medium light weight jersey, which drapes beautifully off the body and looks and feels luxurious. It has great stretch and looks slightly dressy, allowing the pieces to move seamlessly for all your daily activities.
What is modal? Modal is a bio-made, natural fibre. The fibre is made from spinning cellulose from beech trees and is considered an eco-friendly alternative to cotton because it takes far less water to grow - think 10-20 times less!
Modal is incredibly soft and feels like silk on the body. In comparison, it is twice as soft as cotton. It acts like a natural fibre and allows the skin to breathe, not trapping perspiration or odours like a synthetic. Modal is also very absorbant so clothes feel fresh and never sticky.
The Lelani Longsleeve is cut from our modal spandex fabric.
Our bamboo/cotton blend is used for our french terry, fleece and a tee-shirt jersey. It's breathable and uber soft. We use the fleece mainly in our fall/winter collection and it's described as "wearing a cloud".
Most people are familiar with bamboo on it's own as a fibre. Our bamboo is harvested and certified as environmentally friendly. Bamboo is blended with cotton to strengthen the fabric and give it a light, luxe feel. The fleeced side is incredibly soft and we encourage gentle wash and lay flat to dry. The fleece wears well and we often see people wearing their pieces year after year.

Both fabrics are OEKO-Tex Standard certified which we explain easily as responsible from fibre to fabric. From there, we take over with local manufacturing here in Vancouver, BC.
