What is Tencel / Lyocell? Why the different names?
Tencel is the trademarked name of the lyocell fibre. Lyocell itself, is a soft, breathable fibre made from wood pulp. The wood is broken down into a smooth solution, formed into fibres and then spun into fabric.
One of the reasons lyocell stands apart is how it is produced. It is made using a closed-loop process that recovers and reuses nearly all the water and solvent used to turn the wood pulp into fibre. This creates less waste than many conventional fabric-making processes.
For simplicity, we'll call it lyocell here but it is a Tencel certified fabric.
What does lyocell feel like?
Lyocell feels soft and smooth against the skin. It is breathable, lightweight and especially good at creating clothing that flows rather than feeling stiff or restrictive.
Those qualities made it the natural choice for the Winslow Trouser. The twill weave gives the fabric enough substance to hold its shape, while the lyocell allows the trouser to fall beautifully around the body.

The Winslow is a relaxed, Canadian-made trouser designed to move easily between work, travel and everyday life. It has a clean flat front, discreet front pockets and an elasticized back waistband for comfort without sacrificing a polished look.
The crotch sits slightly lower, creating an easy fit and a little more length through the leg. The Winslow is intentionally loose around the hip so the fabric can hang and move as it was designed to. When choosing your size, we recommend giving yourself a few inches of room through the hip rather than selecting a close fit.
With a 31-inch inseam in sizes XS to M and a 31.5-inch inseam in sizes L to XXL, the Winslow has a full-length silhouette that works beautifully with sneakers, boots or a more refined shoe.
